Kaya Swan View PS community,
Updated Logo
After lots of consultation with staff and our community, we can proudly announce that our school logo will be updated to be the below:

After listening to feedback, it was important for us to retain the tunnel and train tracks in our logo, as they have been a part of our identity for many years and are iconic to the Swan View area.
The colours of the hands have been updated to reflect our school colours and symbolise the acceptance and celebration of all cultures and backgrounds—something we are incredibly proud of as a school community. We understand that transitioning to the new logo will take time, and please note: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A NEW UNIFORM. The change will be introduced gradually, so there is no need for concern.
We sincerely appreciate everyone’s input throughout this process. We believe the result is a professional, refreshed logo that reflects both the spirit of our community and the ongoing improvements at our school.
Faction Carnival
This was an excellent day which was organised extremely well by Mr Peterson. We saw a lot of positive sportsmanship with our students and their behaviour was fantastic. A big thank you to our P&C who were there all day selling raffle tickets and baked goods which were very kindly donated by members of our school community. We still have raffle tickets available which will be drawn this FRIDAY!
Playground Grand Opening
A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated the official opening of our brand-new playground! This project was made possible through years of dedication and fundraising by our school community and the P&C. The previous playground, which had served us for over 30 years, was well overdue for an upgrade. Our students deserve the very best environment to play and grow, and our P&C shares this vision.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the P&C (both past and present), parents, and community members who supported this initiative. Every fundraiser, every donation, and every effort made a difference! The P&C is continuing their fantastic work this term, with an Easter Raffle and a bake sale at the Faction Carnival this Thursday. They would love donations of baked goods, and raffle tickets will be available for purchase on the day.
Half-Day Interviews: A Stronger Home-School Partnership
Last week, we also held our first-ever half-day closure to allow parents and guardians to meet with teachers and discuss student progress. The feedback from both staff and families has been overwhelmingly positive, with many finding it a valuable opportunity to ask questions, share insights, and collaborate on their child’s learning journey.
This is also a timely reminder that a child’s education is a partnership between home and school. As parents, you are your child’s first and most influential teacher. While we guide their academic learning for six hours each day, the lessons they learn at home—such as respect, empathy, kindness, and responsibility—are just as important. Your support in reinforcing these values and skills is essential in helping your child grow into a confident, capable learner. Together, we can ensure the best outcomes for every child.
Harmony Day Celebration
A couple of Friday’s ago we celebrated Harmony Day, and what a turnout it was! We set up tables expecting to accommodate all the donated food, only to find we needed more! The generosity of our families was overwhelming, and we were truly humbled by the delicious dishes shared.
Harmony Day is a time to celebrate the rich diversity within our community. At Swan View PS, we are fortunate to have students from all over the world, including the Philippines, New Zealand, Africa, Japan, and many other places. It is essential for our students to understand that no matter where someone comes from, we are all equal and should be welcomed and celebrated.
As part of the celebration, our students enjoyed an incredible Japanese drumming performance, and our Year 4 students had the unique opportunity to create origami with a Japanese master! It was a wonderful day of learning, sharing, and coming together as a school community.

Staffing Update
We are sad to announce that Ms. Noelene Booth has resigned from her position at Swan View PS after more than 15 years of dedicated service. Noelene has made a lasting impact, supporting intervention students, leading our recycling initiatives, and running our Drumbeat program. While we are incredibly sad to see her go, we wish her the very best in her new career. We are currently in the process of finding a suitable replacement to continue her valuable work.
Looking ahead, in Week 1 of Term 2, we will be advertising for the permanent Deputy Principal position. As Robert Wright will not be returning to Swan View PS, we are seeking a permanent replacement. Mr. Townsend has been in the role and will continue to support us until the end of Term 2.
We hope to have a successful candidate in place by midway through Term 2.
Good Standing & Attendance Rewards
Yesterday, students who have maintained Good Standing enjoyed an extended recess as a reward for their positive behaviour. Next term, students with Good Standing will get to choose an incursion to celebrate their achievements!
Additionally, last week, Evie Hart won the attendance raffle bike! All students who have 95% or more attendance go into the raffle to win a bike or scooter. Have a look at the bike Evie is getting below!

Friday – Last day of Term
This Friday, Forest Faction will be getting Pizza and Play at lunch for their win this term for the most faction points. At 10am we will also have our Easter Hat Parade in the undercover area from 10am (all parents are welcome). We will also have MLP Steve Catania in to decide on the winners for the colouring competition!
School Returns
A reminder that we are back on MONDAY 28th APRIL!
Thank you for your continued support—we hope you all have a wonderful Easter break!
