From the Principal
Kaya Swan View PS Community,
Term 4 is in full swing and it won’t be long before we are getting ready for Presentation Evening! We have been completing lots of testing of students ahead of reports and have been very happy with the progress of students!
Thank You to Our Amazing P&C
A huge thank you to our incredible P&C for their hard work and dedication at the recent Bunnings Sausage Sizzle. Thanks to the support of our volunteers and community, more than $3,000 was raised for our school.
These funds make a real difference to our students and allow us to continue improving our school environment and resources. One exciting project that will directly benefit from P&C fundraising is our new playground, which is scheduled to be installed during the Christmas holiday period. On behalf of the staff and students of Swan View Primary School, thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and to those who supported the fundraiser. We are very fortunate to have such a committed and supportive school community.
The P&C would love some support for the Colour Run which will be held in the last week of school. The students who raise the most amount will get the opportunity to slime staff who were voted on by our students! These are:
-Mr Brown
-Mrs Tomlinson
-Mr Price
-Mr Russell
Also don’t forget, the P&C have some excellent Christmas Cards for sale in the front office designed by our very own students!
Undercover Area Improvements
Over the past few years, the condition of our undercover area has been raised regularly by families, staff and visitors as a significant safety concern. We have listened carefully to this feedback and have continued to advocate strongly on behalf of our school community.
I am pleased to share that the Department of Education has now agreed to support remedial works to address these concerns. The project will involve removing the existing surface, removing the tree roots that have caused uneven sections, and resurfacing the area with asphalt.
While the finished product may not have quite the same visual appeal as the current surface, the improvements will provide a much safer environment for our students, staff and community members. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we worked through this process and are delighted that these much-needed upgrades will soon become a reality.
BeYou Survey Family Feedback
The mental health and wellbeing of students and their families is very important to us. We rely on this feedback to help us organise programs throughout the year and ensure that we are targeting our students with the best activities from our Berry St Program and protective behaviours. I promise it is a very short survey and it truly helps our planning in the Health curriculum. Please click on the link to complete:
Staffing/Class Update for 2027
We have started to look at classes/structures for next year and we still have recruitment processes underway for the AIEO and Special Needs EA Pool positions. We have had another influx of enrolments and as a result, I will not release the class structures or staff lists until Week 7 (the week before we have our Transition Day on the 3rd December). I am conscious of not wanting to release lists/classes while we are still getting enrolments and finding out about students who are staying/leaving.
School Survey
Thank you to the families who completed our recent School Culture Survey. We were delighted to see overwhelmingly positive feedback, with parents highlighting our welcoming school environment, caring staff, quality teaching, student wellbeing initiatives and visible leadership team. We are particularly proud that over 90% of respondents agreed that staff care about their children and that families feel welcome at our school.
-94% of parents feel welcome when attending the front office.
-93% of parents agree or strongly agree that their children feel welcome in classrooms.
-90% agree that staff care about their children.
-91% believe our teachers are professional, committed and enthusiastic.
-92% believe student wellbeing and care is a priority at Swan View Primary School.
-87% believe the school is well led and 87% frequently see school leaders around the school.
-Parents consistently described the school as welcoming, supportive, caring and a positive place for children to learn.
One area we will continue to strengthen is community awareness of our School Board, ensuring families have a greater understanding of the Board’s role and contribution to school decision-making. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support of Swan View Primary School.
Bobby of the Month
This term, we introduced our new “Bobby of the Month” award at assemblies. Each fortnight, our school focuses on one of our values, and teachers look for students who consistently demonstrate that value in their actions, attitude and interactions with others.
At the end of the fortnight, one student is selected as our Bobby of the Month and receives their very own Bobby to take home and enjoy. This has quickly become a highly anticipated award, with students showing great enthusiasm for living our school values each day. We would like to congratulate Lilah (Year 5) and Zara (Year 2) on being our first ever recipients! They show EXCELLENCE in everything they do, whether it be in their work or with their peers in the playground. They are such positive role models at our school.
We are incredibly proud of the positive examples being set by our students and look forward to celebrating many more Bobby recipients throughout the year.
Compass
A friendly reminder to please ensure you have Compass installed on your phone. We have lots of important notices coming up these next couple of weeks and to ensure we are being environmentally friendly, we would prefer to send them electronically (rather than with flyers).

Congratulations to Jedi B for being nominated our Aussie of The Month for October.
All of our hardworking sustainability leaders do an amazing job. But our wonderful cleaners wanted to recognise the efforts of one particular leader. Jedi took on board some feedback and has helped to improve our overall environment and has contributed to making the undercover and cleaner place to eat. Thank you, and well done Jedi.

Around the Rooms
EC4 Design and Technologie lesson.
Students began by drawing and designing their dream chair. They then brought their creative ideas to life by constructing their chairs using recyclable materials. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving and design skills.
