Kaya Swan View PS community,
What a fantastic performance yesterday from our whole school at their ResiDance concert. The students were so engaged and thanks to Tash and Ash, showed off some great dance moves. Thank you to all of you for coming to support. As we head towards the end of term, I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate some of the wonderful achievements and contributions from across our school community.
Interschool Sports
A huge congratulations to all students who recently represented Swan View Primary School in our interschool sports competitions against Greenmount PS, St Anthony’s, Midvale and Middle Swan. Our students were exemplary ambassadors for our school, consistently demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork and respect both on and off the field.
Thank you to everyone involved in making these events such a success. We would particularly like to acknowledge Phil, our P&C President, for coaching the AFL team, and Georgie for coaching our netball team. We greatly appreciate the time and energy they generously gave to support our students.
Dental Health Education
Over the past three weeks, we have welcomed UWA dental therapy students into our school to deliver engaging lessons on the importance of good dental health. Students across all year levels have learned about healthy oral hygiene habits and the role they play in maintaining overall wellbeing. We thank the dental therapy students for sharing their knowledge and helping our students develop lifelong healthy habits.
Book Fair Success
A huge thank you to all the families who supported our recent Book Fair. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped us raise an incredible $678, which will be spent on purchasing new books for our school. These resources will help foster a love of reading and enhance learning opportunities for all students.
P&C News
Our P&C continues to do an amazing job supporting our school and students. They are currently seeking volunteers for the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on 25 October. If you are available to help, please pop into the front office and add your name to the sign-up sheet.
We are also excited to share that the P&C has generously donated $20,000 towards our new Early Childhood playground. This remarkable contribution will have a lasting impact on our youngest learners, and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support.
Looking ahead to next term, the P&C has a range of exciting fundraising activities planned, including a school disco and Colour Run. We encourage families to get involved and support these fantastic community events.

Attendance Matters
Congratulations to our attendance prize winners, Payton and Finn, who have each achieved over 95% attendance this term! As a reward for their commitment to coming to school every day, they will have the exciting opportunity to choose a new bike or scooter. Well done, Payton and Finn, on setting such a great example for your peers.
Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in a child’s educational success. Over the last couple of weeks, we have noticed a decline in student attendance across the school, and we would like to remind families of the importance of ensuring children attend school every day unless they are unwell. Every day at school provides valuable learning opportunities, and absences can quickly add up.
We also ask parents and carers to notify the school whenever their child is absent. Keeping us informed helps us ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students and allows us to accurately record attendance. Please remember that if your child is absent for three consecutive days or more, a doctor’s certificate or medical note is required upon their return to school.
Early Student Pick-Up Procedures
To help us maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students, we kindly remind families that any student being collected from school before the end of the day must be signed out through the Front Office.
This is not simply a school procedure. It is a legal requirement and an important part of our duty of care. When a student leaves school grounds during school hours, the school must have an accurate record of who collected the child, the time they left, and the reason for the early departure.
Parents and carers should not go directly to the classroom to collect their child. Our office staff will give you the early release slip which you take to the classroom teacher, ensuring that teaching and learning are disrupted as little as possible.
The sign-out process helps us:
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Meet our legal and duty of care obligations.
- Ensure all students can be accounted for in the event of an emergency.
- Provide a safe and consistent process for student collection.
We appreciate your cooperation in following this procedure and helping us keep all students safe.
CPFS Support Group – Every Thursday 9am – 10am LIBRARY
A couple of our families who are CPFS carers would like to start a support group for other carers. It will be a space to share information and support in relation to foster care. It will start Week 1 (15th October) 9am in the library.

Aussie of the Month
Congratulations to Mikey Bilbao for being nominated Aussie of the Month for September.
Mikey received the award because he is constantly on the look out and picking up other people’s litter and rubbish.
Mikey shows excellence and pride in the school and tidying up the environment.

Cuddles Early Learning & Childcare Parent Session
We’d love to offer your school the opportunity to share the clinic with your students and families as a fun and active option for the upcoming school holidays.
There are two clinic types available:
🏉 League Stars SKILLS for children Ages 5–9
A full day of active fun including footy skills, obstacle courses, League Tag games, challenges and creative indoor activities. No previous footy experience is required!
🏉 League Stars GAME for children Ages 10–12
A full day of team-based activities including League Tag games, skill challenges, trivia and team-building sessions. Kids can register with friends or join a team on the day.
📅 Wednesday 7 October
⏰ 9am–3pm
📍 Charlottes Vineyard Oval, the Home of the Ellenbrook Rabbitohs
💚 FREE to attend but registration is essential as places are limited.
Children will need to wear active clothing and enclosed shoes/boots and bring morning tea, lunch and a drink bottle.
